Environmental Management System Based on ISO 14001 Standard (Version 2004)
This course which was held on 17-18 December 2006 (16 hours), was designed for the purpose of presentation of the concepts and principles in sustainable environmental management systems and their role in the safeguarding and controlling sustainable development. The said course concentrated on the obligations in environmental management systems, and based on the ISO 14001 standard, and its description and use for sustainable development.
The course was held by UNA-IRAN for MS students in environmental management and environmental engineers.
Course objectives:
- Presentation of sustainable environmental management concepts and principles.
- Introduction of environmental management systems principles and terminologies.
- Review of the evolution of environmental notion.
- Review and debate of some issues common to environmental management.
- Introduction of the participants to the ISO 14000 standards.
- Review and explanation of ISO 14001 obligations.
- Review of the environmental systems documentation obligations and possible structures.
- To bring about one viewpoint to achieve development in sustainable environmental management systems
