- Review of Juvenile Crimes from Human Rights Aspects Education Course
The Review of Juvenile Crimes Project was held in February 2005 with the aim of elimination and reduction of crimes from the juvenile community of the country. This project was held with a scientific and practical approach with the cooperation of the Organization for Defending Victims of Violence in four stages. These stages were conducting research and studies on juvenile cries, hold technical sittings with the presence of psychologists, sociologists and jurists; hold education workshops, and preparation of education booklets and digital products relevant to thematic subjects such as: behaviorology of crimes, review of inconformity or abnormality, review of the characteristics of juvenile criminals based on type of crime, review of the characteristics of juvenile crimes victims, review of the causes for juvenile crimes, how to face with juvenile criminals and review of methods for prevention of these crimes.
- Democracy Culture and the Role of NGOs in Iran Education Course
This course was held by UNA-Iran with the cooperation of UNA Denmark and a number of Iranian NGOs for a week in February 2005 in Tehran. This course was arranged for the participation of 20 Iranian NGOs and with the aim of introduction of these organizations to new international laws and also to create an environment of debate and review of democracy and the role of NGOs in Iran.
The workshops of this education course were on the subjects of: the democracy process in Iran and NGOs links with the government, the democracy culture in Iran compared to the West, democracy actors and new methods for the promotion of democracy in Iran, democracy’s future, international cooperation and capacity building.
- The UN System and its Activities in Iran Specialized Course – For Education and Training Teachers and School Heads
Efforts to promote human rights is one of the main and urgent objectives of the UN, its agencies and its affiliated organizations. These efforts are not possible but through awareness and recognition of the public of UN objectives, activities and programmes.
UNA-Iran which had defined the establishment of links between the UN, international organizations, countries and members of the human race in its mission, endeavors to prepare the basis for this awareness raising. The 26-hour specialized course on the Introduction to the UN System and its Activities in Iran started for Education and Training teachers and school heads from 13 August 2005 with the attendance of 140 teachers and school heads.
The main objective of this course was to get the participants a view of the theoretic and practical dimensions of UN agencies, objectives, activities, achievements and the capacities of these organizations in the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly towards the realization of the MDG.
